Shooting victim flags down help on busy street

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man flagged down help after being shot in the leg Tuesday night.

He was making his way to the hospital when he saw a passing ambulance near Burton Street and the East Beltline. He was able to get their attention and was transported the rest of the way to the hospital

The man was shot in the leg, but the wound is not life-threatening. Grand Rapids Police searched the area where he was found and around an address near Camelot Street and Charring Cross Drive, where they had received other calls of someone being shot, but they did not find a suspect.
