Residents give boat to help rescue 3 people who fell onto ice in Grandville

GRANDVILLE, Mich. — Three people had to be rescued after falling through lake ice Sunday, according to the Grandville Police Department.

Police say it happened around 3 p.m. Sunday at Whispering Springs Lake in the area of Eagle Rock Court SW in Grandville.

When crews arrived, two people had already fallen through, and the third person fell in while trying to help them, according to police.

A nearby resident was trying to help the victims until first responders arrived.

All three adult victims were brought to safety, and two of them were hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
