LEROY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Late Tuesday afternoon, Deputies from the Calhoun County Office of the Sheriff responded to a head-on collision that left one injured in the area of 6 mile road and B Drive South.

Witnesses at the scene told the officers a white sedan was traveling north on 6 Mile Road at high speed when the vehicle then hit a pot hole. This caused the driver to lose control, enter the opposite lane, and hit a pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the sedan, a 39-year-old Newton Township female, was transported to Bronson Battle Creek, where she is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck sustained no injuries.

The accident is currently being investigated by the Calhoun County Accident Reconstruction Team. Speed and alcohol appear to be factors to the crash.
