CROWN POINT, Ind. — A truck struck an overpass in northern Indiana early Thursday morning, briefly shutting down a highway.
Indiana State Police Sergeant Glen Fifield shared images of the crash on I-65 near Crown Point, showing an open trailer of a dump truck standing upright against the overpass.
It is unclear what exactly caused the crash or how the trailer ended upright, but crews were able to quickly get the scene under control.
Fifield called the collision a "mishap."
The interstate closed around midnight and was reopened just after 1 a.m.
Fifield said the bridge was inspected and did not have any significant damage from the collision.
