NATIONAL — The US Treasury says people getting social security will not have to file the abbreviated tax return to get an Economic Impact Payment.

“Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return need to take no action, and will receive their payment directly to their bank account,” said Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin.

Information from forms already filled out by recipients and the funds will be sent to them in the manner they typically receive their benefits.
