Justin Amash seeks Libertarian nomination for president

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A series of tweets by U.S Representative Justin Amash clearly show he is throwing his hat into the ring for 2020.

Representative Amash said in a tweet Tuesday that he has launched an exploratory committee seeking a nomination from the Libertarian Party.

He also tweeted a link to his political donation page.

The Congressman from Michigan's 3rd District has been known to oppose President Trump, saying he agreed the president should be impeached, but never jumped to the Democratic Party.
Amash's career has been fraught with controversy as he left the Republican party and a Congressional committee he helped found.

"We’re ready for a presidency that will restore respect for our Constitution and bring people together." Amash wrote. The public's initial reaction to the move has not made it clear whether the run will find success or even earn an official place with the Libertarian party, who have not commented at this time.
