WEST OLIVE, Mich. — July is here, and with it, the start of blueberry season in Michigan.
At Crossroads blueberry Market in West Olive local farmers are preparing fresh blueberry goods every morning.
Blueberry muffins, pies, cookies, honey, coffee, donuts, you'll find every blueberry treat under the sun at this delicious market.
The blueberries that make their treats can be found across the street at the markets farm and U-Pick field.
U-Pick is expected to begin the weekend of July 17th.
Partial owner of the market, Amber DeHaan says u-pick is a great opportunity for kids to learn about the work behind their food; "For them to come and be a part of harvesting the blueberries, and then be able to take them home and use them in baked goods and other things.. it's just a great way for them to realize there is a lot of hard work put into these things, to get them to that table."
Crossroads Blueberry Market also has games out back for families including barrel rides, duck races, bean bag tosses, a large sandbox, and more.
Located just 10 minutes from the Lake Michigan lake shore, this market is a summer must.
