MARSHALL, Mich. — Michigan State Police is investigating a string of vehicle thefts in Algansee Township.

Troopers responded to reports of a stolen 1996 Ford vehicle along South Fremont Road on Tuesday, says MSP, adding that the vehicle was in “extreme disrepair” and was likely taken away on a trailer. They say that vehicle’s license plate is DBT4668.

On the following day, MSP was dispatched to the same area following the alleged theft of a red 1984 Ford F-150, which police say was also in disrepair, requiring a trailer to be moved. The F-150 is described to have broken windows, a cap on the back, flattened front tires and rust on the front doors near the running boards.

Authorities say witnesses saw a potential suspect vehicle in the area around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, describing it as a black truck equipped with a wooden utility trailer.

Those with information in connection to either of the alleged thefts are asked to get in touch with Michigan State Police Marshall Post.
