BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. — A woman was injured while riding on an inner tube on South Coldwater Lake on Saturday evening.

According to the Branch County Sheriff's Office, at 5:18 p.m. Saturday a 51-year-old woman from Monroe County was riding on an inner tube behind a boat on the lake in Kinderhook Township when they hit a large wave and she was thrown from the tube.

Undersheriff Keith Eichler said the wave was "possibly caused by the wake of the boat pulling her."

The woman required medical attention and was transported by Lifecare Ambulance to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital where no condition report was available today.

The incident remains under investigation by the Branch County Sheriff's Office.
