NILES, Mich. — The Michigan State Police Niles Post is working with several local stores to collect toys, gift cards and food for those less fortunate for the “Stuff a Blue Goose” event.
The “Blue Goose” is an MSP patrol vehicle and will be stationed Saturday outside Walmart at 2107 S. 11th Street in Niles and Meijer at 5019 Red Arrow Highway in Stevensville.
Troopers will collect donations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a news release said.
MSP’s goal is to collect as many items as possible during this four-hour period, but those who can’t make it that day can still drop donations off at the MSP Niles Post.
All items gathered will be given to Mosaic Wonderland Toy Store, Redbud Area Ministries and Helping Hands of Cass County.
Donations stay local.
Mosaic Wonderland Toy Store needs toys for children of all ages and gift cards valuing $50 or less for teenagers.
The gift cards should be to Meijer, Walmart, Best Buy or Kohls.
Redbud Area Ministries and Helping Hands of Cass County need nonperishable food.
