LANSING, Mich. — Michigan’s health department reported the state’s fourth death from a vaping-related lung injury.

The Department of Health and Human Services says it was notified about the death of an adult woman Wednesday. No other information on the person’s identity was released.

Since August 2019, there have been 73 confirmed and probable cases of vape-related lung injuries. All cases are in the Lower Peninsula and have an age range of 15-67.

The Centers for Disease Control has identified over 2,758 cases nationwide, but the influx has slowed down since the summer. Vitamin E acetate has been identified as a likely culprit.
