MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Special Olympics athletes will still have summer games this year, but virtually.
Events will be held online from July 19 through July 25, including opening and closing ceremonies.
To prepare, Special Olympics Michigan, sponsor of the games, is providing a six-week at-home training program beginning June 8.
Participation is not restricted to Special Olympics athletes; volunteers and supporters can join in, right down to the Virtual Victory Dance.
