MICHIGAN — Michigan Sec. of State Jocelyn Benson is reminding residents that they can renew their watercraft registrations online before the March 31 deadline.

Watercraft owners can renew online or by locating a self-service station.

“Customers can renew their watercraft registration from the safety and comfort of their home on our website or at one of the many self-service stations located across our state,” says Benson. “As we roll out upgrades to our online services this spring, customers will find it even more convenient to do business with the Secretary of State.”

We’re told registrations must be renewed every three years on March 31.

The Michigan Secretary of State’s office adds that all watercraft must be registered except for non-motorized, non-commercial kayaks and canoes; surfboards; rafts; watercraft propelled by paddles or oars and are 16 feet or less and not used for commercial purposes; and watercraft that are registered in a different state.
