LANSING, Mich. — Furloughs, job loss, and social distancing can affect a family’s nutrition through food insecurity, so a new effort has been established to fund extra efforts to fight hunger in Michigan.
The Million Meal Challenge has been set up by the Food Bank Council of Michigan and the Michigan Farm Bureau, the parent company of Farm Bureau Insurance.
A donation of $50,000 will be made by Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan and the Agent Charitable Fund, who will match another $50,000 in donations from agents, clients, and the public.
