Biden leads Trump in Michigan, poll shows

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Joe Biden has a lead over President Donald Trump in the presidential election in Michigan, according to a poll released Friday.

The EPIC-MRA poll shows 51% of respondents saying they would vote for Biden if the election were held immediately, versus 40% favoring Trump.

Trump also received a poor performance rating, with 59% saying he isn’t doing a good job versus 39% saying he is, according to the poll.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s own approval rating is 57% positive and 42% negative.

Fifty percent of voters think the state is headed in the right direction, compared to 70% saying the U.S. as a whole is moving in the wrong direction.

However, 51% have a negative view of Michigan’s economy and 41% positive.

Michiganders are split on their view of the Black Lives Matter movement, with 50% in support of it and 42% disapproving. Fifty-eight percent disapproved of federal intervention in racial inequity protests in Portland, Oregon.
