BATH TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Bath Township police say they are canceling all criminal activity due to the coronavirus.

In a Facebook post, the department said that while officers love catching criminals, they know the illness spreads from human contact. Since putting someone in handcuffs requires physical contact, the department decided it would be best to cancel crime.

“We suggest everyone who relies on the now-canceled criminal activity to seek actual employment,” the post says.
