LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel had planned what was to be called Scam Jam, a series of events to inform Michigan citizens about scams and available consumer protections. Instead, the AG is turning to a series of YouTube videos.
The first video describes scams that try to fool people into giving up part or all of their federal stimulus money.
A second video was posted Tuesday that described how scammers are trying to get personal information by claiming they can provide COVID-19 tests.
Nessel’s office is also posting a Scam Alert of the Day and other consumer protection information on the agency’s consumer protection web page.
