LANSING, Mich. — Emergency suspensions of liquor licenses and permits have been issues in Battle Creek, Detroit, and Flint according to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC).
The suspensions have been issued for the following violations: allowing non-residential, in-person gatherings; providing in-person dining; and failure to require face coverings for staff and patrons. Thus far the MLCC has suspended liquor licenses for 34 businesses for violations.
Minnie’s Rhythm Café located at 546 E. Larned in Detroit had their liquor license suspended Jan. 6, Down the Tracks located at 2310 W. Court St. in Flint saw their liquor license gone Jan. 11, and Lakeview Lounge located at 640-642 Capital Ave. SW in Battle Creek lost theirs today.
Down the Tracks and Lakeview Lounge are will appear before an Administrative Law Judge on Jan. 15, 2021, to determine whether the suspension should continue, or other fines/penalties should be imposed.
