OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A teenage motorist was cited after his car struck a bicycle rider Sunday morning in Port Sheldon Township.

At 9:16 a.m. Sunday, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a car hitting a bicycle with injuries on West Olive Road south of Croswell. The investigation showed that a 66-year-old Grand Haven woman was riding a bike northbound on West Olive Road when a 19-year-old male from West Olive driving a Honda Accord, also northbound on West Olive, did not see the bicyclist in time and struck the rear of the bike.

The woman, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to Holland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The teen driver was not injured.

The teenager was cited after the crash.
