Just before 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Barry Street, West of 144th Avenue in Port Sheldon Township for a one-car crash.

A 39-year-old man from Holland City was driving east on Barry Street at a high rate of speed while passing other vehicles going the same direction.

As the driver attempted to pass other traffic, he lost control of his car and left the roadway.

When his vehicle left the roadway, it struck a culvert and overturned before coming to rest in the ditch.

The driver suffered broken bones and internal injuries, and was transported to Holland Hospital and then Spectrum Butterworth for non-life threatening injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
