HUDSONVILLE, Mich. — Drivers in Ottawa County will be feeling some déjà vu beginning Sunday.
Last year, eastbound I-196 traffic was detoured onto M-6 as part of the project to rebuild the westbound lanes between Hudsonville and Grandville.
Beginning Sunday, May 31, eastbound traffic on I-196 will once again be detoured onto eastbound M-6. This time, the eastbound side of the freeway will be rebuilt between 32nd Avenue and the Ottawa/Kent county line at the Kenowa Avenue bridge.
The closure will last at least until August 1, according to schedules from the Michigan Department of Transportation.
The ramp from M-6 westbound to I-196 eastbound will also be closed.
Westbound traffic on I-196 will be normal, using the new pavement built and opened last year.
