HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Holland man is critically hurt and part of US-31 is closed after a semi crash in Holland Township Wednesday afternoon.

Dispatchers say the closure impacted the freeway at Felch Street until about 4 p.m.

A semitruck driven by a 30-year-old Benton Harbor man stopped before the intersection at Felch Street when it was rear-ended by a moving van that failed to stop in time, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO).

The van driver, described as a 37-year-old Holland man, sustained critical injuries in the crash, deputies say. He has since been taken to the hospital for treatment.

We're told the north- and southbound lanes were closed while cleanup and investigation took place.
