ALLENDALE, Mich. — If you are looking to find some good items for your family or your home, there is a massive community yard sale underway.
It's all part of the annual sale taking part in three different subdivisions in Allendale: Hidden Shores, Bittersweet and Oakview Estates.
This is located right off of Lake Michigan Drive and 72nd Avenue and from 68th Avenue to Sunset Drive, across from Allendale High School.
Many of the homeowners we talked to say they have been busy cleaning and decluttering their homes and are looking forward to getting rid of items while making money.
"It is amazing to be able to come back and have something that we used to do and just kind of redevelop a new normal, I would say and it's needed," said homeowner Tamara Nichols.
"With the stores not really being open right now it's hard to get out there and find clothes for your kids," she said.
"It's great because we do this every year in this neighborhood and so I've been collecting things for the last year and a half, and the kids are getting older, and I'm probably going to downsize in the next couple of years, so I was really looking forward to it," another homeowner Stephanie Forest said.
The event runs today from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
