MUSKEGON, Mich. — A Saturday morning argument led to a woman being stabbed to death and a man is in custody on a charge of open murder.
At 1:32 a.m. Saturday, Muskegon Department of Public Safety officers responded to a report of an assault involving an edged weapon in the 500 block of West Western Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a 33-year-old Muskegon area woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers tracked and located a suspect in a nearby residence. The 36-year-old Muskegon man was taken into custody and is being held in the Muskegon County Jail on charges of open murder.
The investigation revealed that the man and woman were involved in a confrontation prior to the stabbing.
