Grand Haven Main Street will celebrate winter with the 11th annual wine and art walk about called Wine About Winter This year's theme is "A Taste of Italy, this year’s showcase of wines on Friday, January 17, 2020. This unique event offers residents and visitors the opportunity to wander the heated sidewalks in the midst of winter and experience the warmth and vitality of Grand Haven Main Street.
The festivities kick off with the Artist’s Award Ceremony at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum beginning at 5:00 pm. Local store fronts from Beacon Boulevard throughout Centertown and along Washington Avenue will be displaying local art and serving up treats and wine from the different regions of Italy. Andy Cawthon, Grand Haven Main Street Promotions Chair states, “These efforts are made so that visitors and residents alike can enjoy our historic downtown and help our Lakeshore economy thrive.” He continued, “Events like Wine About Winter add to the vibrancy of Grand Haven Main Street and make it a year round destination.” Participants will have the opportunity to view artwork from the area’s best artists, shop in the many charming boutiques as they traverse the heated, snow free sidewalks of downtown Grand Haven or jump on the complimentary Harbor Trolley, while tasting appetizers and Italy’s best wines. “Last pour” will be at 8:30 pm.
This year’s admission to Wine About Winter is the 11th annual commemorative wine glass which will be on sale for $5. These glasses make the perfect holiday stocking stuffer for your favorite wine enthusiast and can be purchased at Fortino’s, located at 114 Washington Avenue. Glasses will also be available to purchase on Friday, January 17 at 41 Harbourfront, in the common area beginning at 3:00 pm. (Limited supply will be available for purchase at Frame & Mat after 5:00 pm). Tasting tickets are only $3 each and will also be available for purchase at all participating wine venues and at 41 Harbourfront. Proceeds from this fundraiser are used for downtown beautification purposes.
Each year Main Street strives to enhance the heart of the Grand Haven community through promotional events, physical improvements and business recruitment and retention activities.
