SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. — A garage fire in South Haven damaged homes on Fruit Street in South Haven Sunday morning.
The blaze damaged adjoining homes in the 400 block of Fruit Street in South Haven before it was extinguished by area emergency services.
The fire was discovered by a South Haven Police Department officer while on patrol just before 6:30 a.m. First responders were able to protect the nearby residences although there was heat damage to siding.
The elderly resident of the aflame house was not at home, according to relatives. The cause is under investigation.
