ALLEGAN, Mich. — Cross-jurisdictional police efforts in southwest Michigan uncovered chemicals, glassware, and evidence of drug manufacturing Thursday.
The search warrant was served by the Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) North Office at 1569 Lincoln Road in Allegan Township. Police took a 46-year-old Elkhart Indiana man into custody.
Detectives tell FOX 17 they found 200 pounds of laboratory chemicals and equipment and traces of methamphetamine and possible DMT/MDMA production. SWET North is one arm of a joint effort by police agencies in southwest Michigan operating in Allegan and Barry Counties.
The man is being held at the Allegan County Jail for operating/maintaining a methamphetamine laboratory, possession of methamphetamine, and being a felon in possession of ammunition.
