SHERMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Deputies are investigating a crash involving a manure spreader that left one person dead.
It happened just after 6 a.m. on Custer Road just north of Sugar Grove Road in Sherman Township of Mason County.
Deputies say an SUV was headed southbound on Custer Road rear-ended a farm manure spreader.
The impact caused the SUV to spin into the northbound lanes of traffic and was hit by two pickup trucks.
The passenger in the SUV died at the scene and both drivers of the pickup trucks suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening. Authorities have identified the victim as 45-year-old Roger Vasquez of Manistee.
