KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is searching for people who had their cars broken into overnight and items stolen.

Police say they got reports about several people breaking into cars on Kickapoo Court just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

When officers responded, several teens ran from the area. One teen was arrested and believed to have stolen a car overnight.

Police say they were able to recover stolen items but now need to find the owners of these items who live in the neighborhood.

We're told two of the teens were taken into custody and three others were released to their parents.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety would like to remind citizens to lock their cars and not to leave valuables unattended inside.
