Two men confess to Kalamazoo PD regarding Monday night burglary of Subway

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Two Kalamazoo men, 20 and 14, confessed to the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department regarding a burglary that occured late Monday evening.

On Tuesday, officers of the Township of Kalamaoo Police Department started investigating a burglary which occurred at the Subway restaurant in the 700 block of Shoppers Ln., within the City of Parchment.

The investigation revealed two suspects entered the restaurant on Monday around 11:30 P.M after smashing out a window.

The suspects made off with an undetermined amount of money.

On Wednesday, Kalamazoo officers acted on a tip and were able to identify both suspects, obtain confessions and recover evidence of the crime.

The first suspect, a 20-year-old Kalamazoo man, was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.

The second suspect, a 14-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was released to a legal guardian.

Both suspects are being charged with:

· Breaking and Entering with intent, a felony which if found guilty, the sentence may be up to 5 Years and/or $2,500 fine.

· Larceny in a building, a felony which if found guilty, the sentence may be up to 4 Years and/or $5,000 fine.

The case has been referred to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutors Office for review.
