PORTAGE, Mich — The City of Portage has sent out word that the election on May 5 will be by mail, but voters can go to city hall to receive and submit ballots.

The notice includes a millage question on Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (K-RESA) and a millage question for the Vicksburg Community School District.

“Voting from home will help limit the spread of the COVID-19 by reducing the number of in-person interactions,” the city said in a release.

Voters registered in Portage should already have received applications to vote absentee, but applications are also available online.
