KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot someone during a drug deal in Kalamazoo Township.
It happened at 11 a.m. Tuesday on Sunnyside Drive near Comstock Compass High School.
Police were called after a person showed up to an area hospital with a gunshot wound. Investigators determined the 24-year-old man was shot during a drug deal and say his injuries are not life-threatening.
The suspect left the scene after the shooting and hasn’t been located.
Officers believe this incident wasn’t a random act and the general public wasn’t in danger. Local schools were placed on a precautionary lockdown until police could secure the scene.
