KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officer has tested positive for COVID-19.
KDPS said the positive test came after an off-duty exposure. The officer is currently off work and recovering at home.
The officer's identity wasn't released.
KDPS says the department has been diligent in planning for COVID-19 cases involving its first responders and had a plan in place that meets state protocols.
