KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Friday morning.
Officers were called around 6:15 a.m. to Paterson Street between Douglas and Staples avenues on a report of shots being fried. While they were investigating, they found a 22-year-old Kalamazoo resident with a gunshot wound nearby on Douglas Avenue.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that weren't considered to be life-threatening.
Information on what led up to the shooting or if a suspect had been identified wasn't immediately available.
