Kalamazoo Metro reducing services

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo County’s public transportation system is reducing its services starting Wednesday.

Buses will run once per hour on designated routes from Monday to Saturday.

The following routes will be operating:

  • Route 1 – Westnedge 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 2 – Portage 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 3 – West Michigan 6:00 a.m. to 9:55 p.m.
  • Route 4 – Oakland 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 5 – East Main 6:15 a.m. to 9:38 p.m.
  • Route 6 – Parchment 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 7 – Alamo 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 8 – Egleston 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 9 – Gull 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 10 – Comstock 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 11 – Stadium 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 12 – Duke 6:15 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. (Monday-Friday Only)
  • Route 13 – South Burdick 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 14 – West Main 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 15 – Paterson 6:45 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 16 – Lovell 6:15 a.m. to 10:08 p.m.
  • Route 21 – Solon Kendall Lafayette: No Service
  • Route 26 – Centre 6:33 a.m. to 9:33 p.m.
  • Route 27 – Romence 6:25 a.m. to 9:45 p.m.

On Sunday, service hours will be from 9:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Metro Connect will also continue taking people to “essential workforce” trips from 10 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday. Essential workforce includes medical workers, first responders, law enforcement, childcare providers, and others providing goods, supplies and equipment to those working with critical infrastructure in Michigan.

Rides can be scheduled up to seven days in advance by calling 269-350-2970.

On the fixed-route system, passengers must board and exit at the rear door and aren’t required to pa a fee. Metro says it is anticipating further changes to its hours of operation.
