KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A 36 year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested in relation to a sexual assault and shooting Sunday morning.
The unnamed suspect is being charged with Criminal Sexual Assault and Assault with Intent to Murder after Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were called to Oak Street. Just before 6 a.m. a woman was sexually assaulted and a man was shot in the leg shortly after. Both victims given medical treatment.
Police found over 15 shell casings and evidence from the sexual assault that, paired with witness statements, were able to quickly lead them to the suspect.
