KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Deputies in Kalamazoo are investigating after they found what they believed to be meth, fake money, and guns at a house on N 36th St.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office told FOX 17 that they were called to the home at about 6 p.m. on Friday, May 1.

Authorities were watching the home for reports of drug deals and stolen property when they noticed a vehicle leaving the scene that looked similar to one that had been stolen the day before out of Kalamazoo Township.

After they tried to stop the driver, he took off. The suspect eventually surrendered after he crashed into some mud off the road in a nearby cornfield.

Officials then got permission to search the home that they had been watching. With the help of the Kalamazoo Metro SWAT Team, crews found meth, guns, and some type of counterfeit currency, along with the equipment used to make it.

The suspect in question has yet to be charged as the investigation continues.
