KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An attempted break-in at D&R Sports Center led to a pursuit of the suspects through from Kalamazoo County into Allegan County, where one suspect was tracked by a K9 unit while the other one got away.

Things started happening around 2:46 a.m. Thursday when Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to D&R Sports Center at 8178 M-43 W. Main Street in Oshtemo Township.

The five individuals who were trying to break into the store took off with deputies in pursuit.

After the pursuit got into Allegan County, an Allegan County deputy laid out stop sticks, which worked in disabling the suspects’ vehicle. Three of the suspects were arrested, but two ran off. After a K9 was put on the track, another suspect was arrested, leaving one at large.

The last suspect is only described as a black male in his mid to late teens.
