KALAMAZOO, Mich. — One minor was injured in a shooting that occurred Monday evening in Kalamazoo but appears to be in stable condition.

Around 7:00 p.m., officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to the report of gunfire in the 1500 block of Cobb Avenue north of Paterson Street.

Witnesses reported seeing a victim who appeared to have been struck by gunfire.

Investigating officers canvassed the area and quickly learned a gunshot victim was driven away from the scene.

The vehicle was contacted as it arrived at a local hospital.

The victim, a 17-year-old Kalamazoo resident, is receiving treatment at the local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
