BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The "USDA Farmers to Families Food Box" event is set to kick off on Saturday at 9 a.m., providing free milk and cereal to struggling families.
A collaboration between the Battle Creek Community Foundation, the Calhoun County Visitors Bureau, Milk Means More, and Prairie Farms Dairy, the goal is to distribute more than 4,000 food boxes to both Battle Creek and the surrounding area.
All families are asked to stay in their vehicles so that volunteers can deliver up to two food boxes directly to their cars.
It will take place at the Carson-Rizor Athletic Field at New Level Sports Ministries on Michigan Ave.
