The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department says it responded to a home in the 15000 block of 15 Mile Road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night in Marshall Township.
Deputies say they were called after a 41-year-old man who was intoxicated and armed with a shotgun was allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old family member.

Deputies were able to get everyone outside the home safely but the suspect refused to cooperate.
He was taken into custody a short time later and is now facing both weapon and assault charges.
