CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — A 42-year-old Sheridan Township man was arrested Monday evening after an attempted homicide.

It happened about 7:45 p.m. in the 14000 block of 26 ½ Mile Road, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The man had gotten into an argument with his sister and brother-in-law over some property and took out a firearm, police said.

The couple was able to get into their car, and as they were trying to leave, the man fired the gun, hitting the car.

As Calhoun County police were looking for the man in the area, they saw him driving toward the location of the incident.

He was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on two counts of assault with intent to murder.

No one was injured.

Michigan State Police helped with the investigation.
