GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — With so many staying at home to avoid COVID-19, some are turning to furry friends for companionship.
We spoke to Parker Smart, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the Humane Society of West Michigan about safe and responsible pet adoption.
Here are some of the tips they had to share:
- Research the breed and breeder
- Do not buy puppy sight-unseen
- Use a credit card to make the purchase
- Keep all documents from the breeder
- Consider contacting a local shelter
