Husband of late Kentwood Public Schools teacher charged with open murder

KENTWOOD, Mich. — Police have arrested the husband of a Kentwood teacher who was killed two months ago.

32-year-old Amber Guichelaar was found dead inside her residence at 1432 Andrew SE in Kentwood on Monday, Nov. 16, according to the Kentwood Police Department.

Richard Guichelaar, Amber's husband, was arrested Saturday. Prosecutors plan to charge him with open murder.

We’re told that Guichelaar had two small children with a third on the way. Police say her death is believed to be suspicious.

Guichelaar is set to be arraigned on the morning of Monday, Jan. 11.
