GRANDVILLE, Mich. — Drivers headed eastbound on I-196 near Chicago Drive were slowed down this morning after a semi trailer that caught fire.
It happened just before 6 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-196 near Chicago Drive. All lanes reopened at 8:30 a.m.
We do not know what started the fire or if the driver was injured.
Police on scene say the semi was full of tires at the time of the fire.
There are backups all the way to 44th Street, and police are now blocking drivers from entering onto I-196 from 44th Street.
