KENT COUNTY, Mich. — The Kent Intermediate School District is now offering meals for its 20 public districts while students are home from school for the next few weeks.
The Michigan Department of Education recently granted flexibility in the federal guidelines so schools are allowed to serve meals which families can simply come pick up.
The meals consist of breakfast and lunch foods and are offered to any child 18 years and under, and students with disabilities ages between the ages of 18 and 26 with an active IEP. Some districts are also offering delivery or neighborhood drop-off, so families should check their district’s website or social media for additional details. Ending dates vary, so families are encouraged to ask for that information at the school.
This is the list so far. Plans are still be finalized for some districts.
