CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan's very first Hamburger Mary's is celebrating its grand opening today.
Hamburger Mary's is a gay-themed and LGBTQ-friendly national burger bar chain.
The new location will open its doors at 4 p.m. in Cascade Township, at 6240 28th St. SE.
Hamburger Mary's will have something special planned every night of the week, such as karaoke, game and trivia nights, drag-day bingo and full production drag shows on the weekends.
"It's a safe space for everyone, and it's a place where everyone is welcome, so we invite you all to come eat, drink and be merry with us ... and have a great time," said Doug Hanchett, co-owner of the location. "We have lots of stuff planned, and we're gonna keep you safe here as well."
The restaurant is allowing 35% capacity for the time being, with plans to open up for lunch in the coming weeks.
