GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Nearly 14 years since Renee Pagel was found dead inside her home, the main suspect in the cold case admitted to killing her.
Michael Pagel, Renee's husband, pleaded guilty to second degree murder Wednesday morning. The plea comes as part of an agreement with the prosecutor's office.
Pagel was charged in his wife's death in February, after years of suspicion by Renee's relatives and friends.
As part of the deal, Pagel will serve at least 25 years in prison. The agreement will allow judge to impose the maximum sentence for second degree murder.
