WYOMING, Mich. — A 65-year-old Grand Rapids man is dead after being hit by a car Wednesday night.
Wyoming police responded about 8 p.m. to the scene on 28th Street just west of S. Division Avenue, according to a news release Thursday.
An initial investigation showed that the man was attempting to walk across 28th Street SW – not in a crosswalk – and was hit by an eastbound vehicle.
The drive of the car remained on scene after hitting the man and did not have any injuries.
Wyoming police continue to investigate the crash, but say speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors.
The name of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
