BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — More than 100 gallons of gasoline was spilled at a Kent County gas station Thursday morning.
It happened at the Sunoco located at 7061 S Division Avenue. Authorities said a man pulling away from a pump struck the nozzle of a fuel delivery truck, damaging the nozzle and causing gas to spill onto the concrete.
The spill was contained, didn’t reach any drains and authorities say there isn’t a concern of ground contamination at this time.
The man who hit the truck was cited for careless driving. Nobody was injured in the incident.
